The second longest running annual pay-per-view event in WWE history took place on the 23rd of November, 2014 at the Scottrade Center, St. Louis, Missouri and it was the 28th consecutive time the show was hosted.
In the Traditional Survivor Series 5 on 5 Elimination Match, a lot was at stake going into this match, with the fate of the members of Team Cena, comprising of John Cena (Team Captain), The Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and Ryback resting on a victory against the formidable force of Team Authority, made up of Seth Rollins (Team Captain), Mark Henry, Rusev (The United States Champion), Corporate Kane and Luke Harper (The Intercontinental Champion) that will dethrone The Authority (Chief Operating Officer - Triple H and One of the Principle Owners of WWE - Stephanie McMahon) who are the ruling power. But a victory for Team Authority would lead to all five members of Team Cena getting fired.
The match stipulation was made by the Chairman of the Board of WWE, Mr. McMahon in the opening segment of Monday Night Raw (November 3rd, 2014). The latter stipulation was made by Triple H on Friday Night Smack Down (November 21st, 2014).
Match Result:
Team Cena Defeats Team Authority (Dolph Ziggler standing as the sole survival for Team Cena)
Shocking Moment:
In a rare, not so surprising move (given the chronic face / heel turn by WWE superstars), the Big Show betrayed his team with a Knockout Punch to John Cena, aligned with Team Authority by shaking the hand of Triple H, before exiting the arena.
Triple H assaults the officiating WWE referee and his replacement.
The Icon - Sting, makes his WWE Debut - fends off Triple H with the Scorpion Death Drop - helps Team Cena win the match by placing Dolph Ziggler on Seth Rollins for the three count.
